Marcus Grönholm may have decided to bring his WRC career to an end last season, but the love of the sport is still very much within him.
During his visit to the Autosport International Racing Car Show held last weekend in Birmingham, England, the Finn remarked that he may occasionally sit behind the wheel again.
"You never know about coming back for certain races this season," Grönholm admitted.
"It's hard though, I need to be in the car with practice and can't really just turn up and race. It's actually dangerous to do that! So I have to think of that, we will see," he elaborated.
Grönholm is well aware that changes to the regulations are already in place regarding the 2008 season, and the new tyre directives come foremost on his mind.
"There is the control tyre now too. I don't know why they have decided to introduce it actually," he declared.
"Maybe it's easier not to have to think about tyres.
Maybe it would have been easier for me - I was always on the wrong tyre!"
Grönholm might be feeling a few pangs regarding his absence on the World Rally Championship scene, but he stands by his conclusion that it was time for him to retire.
"I'm happy about my decision, I had a good career. I won two championships," he remarked.
"I don't know how I will manage not being a rally driver but I think I will still be in the sport, help younger drivers and things like that," Grönholm contemplated.
