Alex Bengue is one of the new faces in the driver line-up for the Škoda Motorsport World Rally Team for 2005. The 2003 French Champion will drive the Fabia WRC on the asphalt rounds of the 2005 championship.
Alex’s career so far has remarkable similarities to that of the current World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb. He first came to prominence by winning the 1998 Rallye Jeunes series for promising young French drivers and his talents were quickly spotted as he progressed towards the World Rally Championship.
In the past three seasons he has twice finished second in the French Rally Championship and, in 2003, took the title outright. In 2004 he only narrowly missed retaining the crown. Last season he graduated to the World Rally Championship on events outside his native France and took tenth place on Rallye Deutschland.
