Desert, adventure, navigation, competition and conviviality are the foundations of the 2009 edition.

The Rally of Tunisia will be the first leg of the World Cup Cross Country Rally for Car- Truck and the Motorbike-Quadbike World Championship. On the programme of this major African rally: a labyrinth of sandy and technical tracks, long off-piste sections through the majestic ergs of southern Tunisia and encounters with Libya's cathedrallike dunes. Breathtaking landscapes, a top quality course, a precise and reliable roadbook, rigorous organisation, excellent security and a great atmosphere…all the ingredients to make the 2009 vintage a roaring success!

100% Africa
For the 2008 edition, NPO chose to extend the course beyond Tunisia's borders with four stages in Libya. Widely approved by the 250 competitors in the race, a Libyan section will be included in the 2009 rally, but with new tracks to offer even more varied terrain.

With 5,000 kilometres to race, a super-section in Tunis and ten stages including a marathon stage (without assistance), this rally is certainly demanding but, in line with the values NPO holds dear, it is still very accessible – to everyone! Professional, amateur and beginner drivers will find what they are looking for and fully express their driving skills whatever their level may be. Particular attention will be paid to the assistance course, ensuring the least possible constraints for the longer sections of the rally.

In future, the Tunisia rally may also be extended… Watch this space!
